The Jezabels - Hurt Me 12. David Hopkins - Amber And Green 13. Milow - The Kingdom LINK. Ok so, sorry for being so late but had some trouble with the internet and such and yes I admit, I'm very very lazy too.

It's 3 at night now so the ideal time to get cracking! I'm not very good at this though. 1) Atmospheric song, with a standard beat.

Kinda dreamy with a weird but addicting atmosphere to it. Great opener 2) Intermezzo with kids talking, old piano in the background and some xylophone.

To be honest, I really like the piano in the background, but it's kinda. I don't know, not really a song or something. 3) Lullaby-esque guitar song, great vocals. A lot of emotion in the voice. 4) One of my favourites: great guitar song with matchign vocals and quite catchy without it being a pop song or something like that.

Great song 5) Electric guitars. A lot darker than the other songs. Kind of a mood breaker because of that. Like the harder parts though. 6) Guitar and saloon like piano, with a song with vocals with voice effects. Sound old but probably isn't.

7) Another intermezzo, with guitar this time. Nice little tune 8) Another one of my favourites. Electric guitars that sometimes kick in to give it this extra kick. Another great piece of a vocalist with a lot of emotion in his singing. 9) Love this son! It start slow, slowly kinda builds up to this catchy rythm.

I could see myself listening to this osng regularly. Cosimir Educational Robotica. 10) Slow song, reminds me of something Irish or something. Really calm and a cool variation in the use of instruments 11) More electronic sound than the other songs.

Not really into electro, but for some reason, it fits wonderfully well in this mixtape. 12) Live version of Mansion on the hill. I can't really remember by who it was, but I know it because of the cover by David Gray.

IYou're probably gonna hit me but I liked the David Gray version better. 13) Off all the song that have electric influences I liked this one the best. Again: the atmosphere. I have almost no atmospheric songs in my music library and you're teaching me how it should be done. 14) Sound like a mix between The Cure and Depeche Mode or something. Overall, it's not really the music I listen to every day, but the point of this whole thing is broadening your musical taste. And well, some of my prejudices were completely wrong about this kind of music.

This tape has this awesome atmosphere to it. It's kinda hard to put my finger on it but it's like this whole trip I underwent and I really quite liked it eventhough I didn't like every song that much. So great job on the tape whoever you might be! Click to expand. An album cover isn't required, but it's a nice touch if you do decide to have one for it. People find creative things to do with their tapes sometimes. At any rate, what is required is that when you make the tape, you need to remove all the original song information.

That way, the listener can't be influenced. I'd say it's more about time length than amount of tracks. The lengths generally are at the discretion of the mixtape maker. Different people like different lengths. A generic guesstimate of length would be around an hour. The one I just made for this one was about 62 minutes or something, and I had 17 tracks. It's all about balance, really.

Really, the more you participate in the exchanges, the more you learn about how to make them.:nice. I’m so sorry this is just way too late!!!!!

So the mixtape was really good, and i can definitely sense a theme here! ”that teenage feeling” the whole tape made me think of a high school proom from the late 80’s maybe 90’s!

The albume artwork freaks me a bit out though but thats probably just because i used to be a braces face! Some of this is stuff that i’d usualy not listen to, my taste in music isn’t very cheerful, but these are relly good old song and you can feel the quality of some of them if you know what i mean! I need more of this kind music! Oh and one more thing the tracks weren’t listed 1,2,3 etc. They where all named 0 so i’m not sure that it’s all in the right order Ok so here it goes.

Track 1(atleast i think it is ) I LOVE NIRVANA!!!! But I haven’t listened to them for a very long time a good opening track, thank you Track 2 Nope i don’t mind The Rolling Stones either, dont listen to them much but i recognise his voice☺ i believe this song is called Under My Thumb which is not hard to asume from the chorus either:rollingeyes: You're right about the band and the song. I'm not listening them often but my dad used to over-listen The Rolling Stones when I was young so it's good sometime to remember old times. Track 3 Now i don't know this one!! I really like the opening with the piano!

It’s a cute tune and it sounds kind of old but for all i know it might just be made that way! I have the feeling this track is called Teenager Yes, not really old. The band was created in the 00's if i'm right. Track 4 I really love this track. Click to expand.First of all it's Ok for the delay, don't hate yourself for that I'm really really happy you like it because it's far to be perfect but I really worked on this mixtape. I didn't have many informations about your tastes so I've decided to made something I like. I tried to make a good balance between old songs and recent ones and made a cosiness atmosphere, not too much agressive, and with a touch of fun/craziness in the music.

And of course you find easily the theme of that mixtape and I'm sorry for that ugly artwork. Springfield M1a Super Match Serial Numbers. I put it to be sure to remove all the originals artwork.

I'll try to make something better next time. Woo for the first time in a while my original reviewer actually reviewed my tape!

I'm relieved Hi Naomi, I'm Sofia, your mixtape maker:nice: No probs about the lateness, I'm really glad to know you listened to it a few times and took that seriously. Plus, I knew in advance you'd take your time to review it, like you did in the last mixtape exchange (don't ask me why, I remembered that). So I was prepared and there's no big deal Anyway, here's my reply.

I wanted to do it in the quote but then it got messy so I gave up 1) So this soothing voice belongs to a great artist previously known as Shipwreck and now called Lontalius from New Zealand. He is also known as 'Italian Plastic', Eddie, just here on Coldplaying It's from his first E.P, 'Singing To You Shipwreck'. You should really have a listen if you liked this one and also to another track called Emmett Brown. I love his work!

Oh wow that is cool 2) Haha sorry you didn't like it. I understand why though.

I knew this would be a risky choice because you seemed not to listen to female voices that much and this one isn't very original. Anyway, it's a funny and short pop song I like and discovered recently from a band, Love Inks, called, as you guessed, Blackeye.:laugh3: It was the only track on here that I really disliked so you did well 3) Yay, this one's for dancing:dance: I wanted to follow the previous mood with an electro dancing song. I really like the male voice and the musicality of this one, especially with the bass line and the electric guitar, though it's electro with the synth and the drum machine. It's from an American band, Penguin Prison. This song is called Golden Train and got famous here cause it opened a big TV show. 4) So glad you liked this one! I think you totally described everything well here, I got nothing left to say This is Shout Out Louds, a Swedish band, off their second album (they made 3) 'Our Ill Wills'.

I can commend you some others songs from them if you want but basically their albums are all good This one gets better everytime I hear it 5) Yep, absolutely, dreamy music. That's what I love in this song, it always makes me float:wacky: And I absolutely can't understand the lyrics neither:blank: It's Cannons from a little American band called Youth Lagoon. They're currently preparing their first album. Noah And The Whale! I really thought you'd know it because they're from UK.

I couldn't help but put it anyway. I'm just in love with this song. All is perfect, especially the lyrics:wacky: It's from their second album 'First Days Of Spring', my very favourite of them so far. You should listen to it if you didn't because it's a brilliant opus, really Yay, I really really love this. Did you know that I absolutely adore duets?

That combined with this sort of sleepy, smooth sounding music is pretty much perfect. Great choice for an opener.

The white 'x' album cover actually came from this album. I love it as an understated album and thought it suited the mixtape well so left it there. This isn't actually a duet-- this is The xx in which they have a very prominent male and female vocalist. If you like this, you should listen to the rest of the album because it carries on in a similar fashion. Death Cab, right?

I've always liked their style and the vocalist has a beautiful tone, but they just have so much music. Where does a girl start in really discovering them?

This song specifically is that little bit too long even though their multi-instrumental bridge in the middle is nice it drags. Death Cab is one of my favourite bands. Well, I'd say that it's better to check out Plans or Transatlantism (this track is from there) and then work your way backwards and then forward (by the time you've done that their latest offering 'Codes and Keys' should be out!) If you find yourself liking more of their work-- then check out The Postal Service too. Hello 1980's synthpop revival! Not necessarily a bad thing, mind you.

Nice haunting vocals. I feel like I heard this in a car commercial at some point. You may have heard it in a commercial-- I think it recently has been. Voted one of the Best New British Bands by NME; Hurts-- Wonderful life. Another long-ish one. Honestly, as soon as the vocals came in I skipped over this one the first time. His voice is just whinging at me.

Tonnnniiiggghhtt is speeecciiiaall. Aw: This is the one I debated most with. This is Interpol's 'Memory Serves' from their most recent album. I had several different Interpol tracks that I wanted to put in and I guess I chose the wrong one. I would still suggest listening to either: 'Antics' or 'Turn on the Bright Lights' because I think you would enjoy them.

Brandon Flowers! This must be from that solo album I couldn't bring myself to listen to, yeah? I love love love his vocal style, truly I do, but without the rest of the killers I just feel like somethings missing and the vocal gets to the point of self-indulgence.what do ya think, should I download the rest of the album? Is it worth it? I do like this track despite my misgivings.

I had the same issues at first too! But I think if you can put that aside for a while then, yeah, give his solo work a go. It is a little self-indulgent at time, but I still think it is a decent album. Would you believe I didn't notice the length of this one until I hit the replay button? Too busy bouncing along. I really liked the strings in the background throughout. The layered vocal for the chorus was nice too.

Kind of dark, kinda epic sounding. Kinda awesome. I'm glad you thought so-- I never realise how long this track is either. This is White Lies; a British band that are on their second album (White Lies and Ritual). They're very much into this dark, atmospheric music so you should definitely check them out.

I Looooove Mumford & Sons! The Cave is such a good song Great choice. I feel like I've heard the instrumentals before. Chorus is catchy. It's a similar style and sound to a bunch of other bands I really like so I'll definitely be listening to this one again. You may have heard this before. And you may also hear a lot of other bands in them.

It's Tired Pony, a supergroup formed from Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, Belle & Sebastian's Richard Colburn and Peter Buck of R.E.M. Hey, I've been hearing this one on the radio for a while now. Good driving music.

Would probably fit in well with my workout playlist, the beat is pretty great. Vocal is nice, smooth even with the speed. Two Door Cinema Club are being played on the radio in America? These guys are fantastic; so energetic and bouncy. This is 'Something Good Can Work' but I've used the Kitsune Maison version which is slightly more acoustic than the final version off their 'Tourist History' album. I like the transition from the last track to this one. Such good instrumentals!

Love the bass! But.haaaaate the vocals. If anyone else sang this song I'd probably love it. Have to skip it instead because of his voice. It grates at me. The lead singer of Bombay Bicycle Club does have an extremely unique voice I have to admit.

It grated on me at the start, but I figure the more you listen to him the more you get used to his voice and it gets uniquely nice rather than annoying:laugh3: 11. Oh, I like this one. I love the tinkling piano-like instrument. Just a really pretty song. I can't figure out the singers accent.doesn't matter though, it's still wonderful. The lead singer is so, so, so Irish it is unbelievable. It's a surprise it doesn't come through in his singing more.

When I spoke to him after the show I saw them at-- I literally had to concentrate so hard to keep up with him. This is a little known band called Ram's Pocket Radio with the track 'Coal, my lips are sealed'. Gah, greatly dislike horns. The guys vocal style reminds me of Jason mraz.

Not really my thing. As much as it's not your thing. I love how close to it you are. This is a Brighton based band called Two Spot Gobi who went on tour briefly with Jason Mraz and recorded their latest album at Jason Mraz's farm. I feel like doing a disco to this song. The 'do-do's and grunting 'huh's are very 70's.

Which is also not necessarily a bad thing. I could see myself dancing around to this one in the near future. They're very different from a lot of the stuff out today. This is Friendly Fires with 'In the Hospital' an extremely catchy tune. Their first, self entitled, album is very much along these lines.

Their soon to be released second is slightly less disco but more dance which I reckon you will like too. More danceable music!

There is nothing wrong with this track. It'll join number 13 on my dance around the house playlist. I can't tell you how happy this makes me! I love exposing people to Fenech-Soler.

They're a British band that have been circulating since this time last year (I saw them when they were unsigned at the Great Escape Festival) and they're just recently getting airplay and recognition. If you love this track you will LOVE the album (Fenech-Soler). Passion Pit is awesome. This one is already on that dance playlist.

When you said you liked Temper Trap I wondered if you'd made the jump across. Question answered then!

This one fits in nicely after the row of dance tracks. It's like a mixture of all the tracks into one ending song. Dark, smooth, danceable, piano, synth all over the place. Strangely not even close to my favorite, but a good choice to end. That's why I thought I had to end with it because it's such a merger of a track. This is also a little known band called Friends Electric with 'Something You Should know' Highlights: 1,6,8,9,11,13,14 Thanks again!
